People expect something complicated here. It is not complicated, it is just measured. I eat five to six meals a day, I build every one of them around protein, and I weigh my food so I know exactly what I am giving my body.
What I Actually Eat
- Protein first, always. Beef, chicken and eggs are my staples, at every meal.
- Carbs for energy. They are not the enemy. Without them I cannot train the way I need to.
- Everything weighed. Portioned to what my body needs, not to what a random plan says.
- Macros counted. In off season and in competition prep, I track them. That is the part most people skip.
Building takes eating. That is the part nobody wants to hear.
Off Season And Prep
The food itself does not change dramatically between off season and prep. What changes are the amounts, adjusted to my needs at that point in the process. The habit stays the same all year, which is exactly why it works.
